History

The Poverty Response Committee was established in 2001 as an RCSAC sub-committee in response to a research report “Poverty in Richmond: A Sense of Belonging”, also known as the “The Poverty Report Card” (2000). The Richmond Food Bank Society administers the funds for the Richmond Poverty Response Committee to achieve it objectives. The Poverty Response Committee has since evolved from being a sub-committee of the RCSAC to being its own entity. In addition to the Steering Committe, the RPRC currently includes several task forces including the Affordable Housing Task Force,  the Transportation Task Force, Richmond Cares and the Faith Communities Housing Group.
